Michael R. Janes

Michael Janes is an experienced litigator and recognized leader in the legal community. Defending healthcare systems, skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities against medical malpractice claims and representing product manufacturers in product liability litigation, Michael has built a well-respected practice over the course of nearly 40 years. 

Michael has tried more than 50 cases to verdict in state and federal courts. Clients look to Michael to provide practical advice and solutions, along with exceptional legal representation, to help them mitigate exposure or avoid costly litigation when possible, and to fiercely advocate for them in court when litigation is unavoidable.

A leader among his peers, Michael is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He has served on the American Board of Trial Advocates Board of Directors and the Association of Defense Trial Counsel Board of Directors, has chaired the State Bar of Michigan Negligence Law Section Council and was the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, Chair of Professional Liability & Health Care. He has also served on the Macomb County Case Evaluation Panel and the Wayne County Case Evaluation Panel. 

Michael is a Fellow of the Michigan State Bar Foundation and was honored with the prestigious Michigan Association of Justice Respected Advocate award in 2016.
