Colleagues, The Managing Directors and I are pleased to announce that Erica Auh and Ryan Garippo are coming back to Miller Canfield after joining us as summer associates last year. Erica joined the Public Finance Group in Detroit today. She earned her J.D. from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, where she was an articles editor for the Northwestern University Law Review. She earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from Wellesley College and doctoral and master’s degrees in social welfare from the University of California, Berkeley. In 2020, she was a judicial extern for the Hon. Judith E. Levy of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Prior to law school, Erica was a National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) postdoctoral fellow and worked as an assistant professor at Ewha Woman's University in Seoul, Korea. Ryan Garippo will join the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group in Chicago on Thursday. Ryan previously interned for the Hon. Sara Darrow of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School, where he was managing editor for the Notre Dame Journal on Emerging Technologies. He also worked as a legal researcher for the 2020 COVID-19 Law Student Pro Bono Group. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in rhetorical communication from the University of Illinois. Ryan is a volunteer with Be the Match and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Please join the Managing Directors and me in welcoming Ryan and Erica back to Miller Canfield. We're thrilled to have you!
