The Managing Directors and I are pleased to introduce you to the impressive new members of the Firm, who joined us last week and today. We look forward to working with them, and we know you will too.

Kyra Sims joined us today in Ann Arbor as a lateral associate in the Personal Services Group. She comes to us from the Bank of Ann Arbor, where she was an assistant vice president and trust officer, managing personal trust accounts and estates and administering irrevocable life insurance trusts. Prior to that, she was an associate at Legacy Law Center in Ann Arbor. She is a graduate of Howard University School of Law and earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan. She serves on the boards of the Ann Arbor YMCA and the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation and is the secretary of the Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority. 

Jediah 'J.J.' Biddinger joined the Litigation and Dispute Resolution in Detroit. J.J. graduated summa cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University. While in law school, he worked in the Immigration Law Clinic and was the managing editor of the Michigan State Law Review. He earned 11 Jurisprudence Achievement Awards and received the Clinical Legal Education Association's Outstanding Clinic Student Award. J.J. interned at Lakeshore Legal Aid and the Michigan Department of the Attorney General. 

Deja Davis has joined the Employment and Labor Group in Detroit. Deja graduated cum laude from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and was a dean's list honoree at her undergrad alma mater, The Pennsylvania State University, where she was a track & field athlete and won the All-Academic Big Ten Athlete Award. While in law school, she was the Moot Court Executive Director of External Competitions, was the president of the Black Law Students Association and the Student Chair Member of the Diversity Committee. She was a summer associate at Miller Canfield in 2019 and interned at Lakeshore Legal Aid last summer. 

Sydney Johnson has joined us in Detroit in the Employment and Labor Group. Sydney is a graduate of Wayne State University Law School, where she was the note and comment editor of The Wayne Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Team and the Women's Law Caucus. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Aquinas College, where she graduated magna cum laude and was the captain of the women's ice hockey team. At Wayne, she was a teaching assistant for Prof. Justin Long and she interned at Wade Fink Law in Birmingham and at the U.S. District Court Eastern District of Michigan for Hon. David M. Lawson. 

Ahmad Mazloum has joined the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group in Detroit. Ahmad graduated cum laude from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and the University of Windsor Faculty of Law. He was a member of the Detroit Mercy Law Moot Court A-Board and a student ambassador at both law schools. Ahmad earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Windsor, where he graduated with honors. He interned at Lakeshore Legal Aid and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan for Hon. Avern Cohn. Ahmad was also a summer associate for Legal Focus Lawyers in Windsor.

Sarah Reasoner has joined our Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group in Ann Arbor. Sarah graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School and summa cum laude from Eastern Michigan University, where she earned her Bachelor of Social Work. While in law school, she was a competitor and student coach on the Trial Advocacy Team and the vice president of JDs in the D. She participated in the Campbell Moot Court Competition and was a student attorney in the Civil/Criminal Litigation Clinic. She interned at Clancy Advising, the Ann Arbor City Attorney's Office, Legal Services of South-Central Michigan and Vlahadamis Law Firm P.C.

On Sept. 1, Jason Wesseling joined us in Grand Rapids. He is a member of the Firm's Personal Services Group. Jason is a graduate of Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, where he graduated with honors and was the winner of the 1L Top Oral Advocate Award. Jason interned at Varnum LLP and Wesseling and Brackmann P.C. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Denison University, where he was an 11-time NCAA All-American swimmer and two-time NCAA national champion in swimming.
