We're excited to announce the opening of our newest office in Washington, D.C., as well as the addition of three attorneys—principals Pawel Chudzicki and Władek Rzycki, and senior attorney Lana Yaghi.
Those three attorneys come to Miller Canfield from global firm K&L Gates and add strength to our robust and growing international practice team. The move also enables us to enhance our scope of services for domestic and international clients and strengthens our Polish capabilities, positioning us as the leading firm for clients engaged in U.S.-Polish business matters.
"Our clients increasingly operate in global and highly regulated environments," CEO Mike McGee said. "Pawel, Władek and Lana will fit seamlessly within our firm, as we represent clients involved in manufacturing, defense, cybersecurity, automotive, banking, and government contracting."
The team will maintain its focus on representing U.S. clients in the aerospace, defense, offset and cybersecurity sectors engaged in business in Poland and Qatar, two strong allies of the United States and important markets for the U.S. manufacturing and service sectors. Additionally, the team works in close cooperation with former United States Secretary of the Army John McHugh on matters related to defense policy and procurement.
Chudzicki advises clients on complex global strategic matters and cross-border business transactions in industries that include defense, aerospace, banking, transportation, telecommunication, media, manufacturing and cybersecurity. He has considerable experience in building and integrating law firm practices. He has practiced in Washington, D.C., Warsaw, Poland and Doha, Qatar, and has worked with clients around the globe. Chudzicki is licensed in Illinois and the District of Columbia. He is recognized by leading law firm and lawyer research and ranking organization Chambers and Partners for his expertise in Qatar corporate and commercial law.
Rzycki advises defense and aerospace companies, multinationals, private equity funds, real estate and infrastructure investors, and public-sector clients in Poland, the United States and the Middle East. Over the past 17 years, Rzycki built the leading defense and offset practice in Poland, representing clients in procurement, Polish company acquisitions, and regulatory and offset matters. To date, he has worked on eight offset programs in Poland, negotiating and supervising technology transfers and industrialization programs. Rzycki is a Polish and U.S. lawyer, licensed in Illinois and New York, and ranked by Chambers and Partners and Legal 500. He is based in Miller Canfield's Poland and Chicago offices.
Yaghi's practice focuses on corporate matters in industries that include aerospace, defense, manufacturing, banking, telecommunications and cybersecurity.
