Miller Canfield is pleased to announce that Ashley Higginson has been named in Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s Up & Coming Lawyers Class of 2023. Honorees are recognized for excellence in the profession as standouts among their peers during their first 10 years of practice.
Higginson is a principal attorney in the firm’s office in Lansing, Michigan, where she is a key member of the firm’s Employment and Labor Group and its Higher Education practice, which serves colleges and universities nationwide. She leads the team that conducts investigations into reports of sexual harassment and misconduct pursuant to Title IX.
Before attending Rutgers University School of Law, Higginson was a member of the Princeton University varsity cross country, indoor and outdoor track team, where she was a multi-time All American and Ivy League record holder. After college, she ran professionally, qualifying for the 2013 World Championships and earning the position of 2021 Olympic Team alternate.
“Ashley is a talented lawyer who has unique perspective in Title IX matters. Her background as an athlete shapes her understanding of Title IX and the opportunities that college athletics provide to student athletes and how to help clients with compliance issues,” said Miller Canfield CEO Megan Norris.
A recognition awards luncheon will honor the Class of 2023 on April 21, 2023. Profiles of the honorees will appear in a special section in the April 24, 2023, issue of Michigan Lawyers Weekly.
