Meet Our Two Newest Associates

We're excited to introduce two new attorneys to our growing team - Anita Marinelli has joined our Intellectual Property Group in Detroit, while Nick Colvin has joined our Public Finance Group and will work out of Detroit and Lansing.

Anita's practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, biological and chemical patent prosecution, intellectual property license and asset purchase agreements, and litigation strategy development. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy and University of Windsor, and her Bachelor of Science degree in biology and medical science from the University of Western Ontario. She is licensed in both Michigan and Ontario, Canada. Read the full press release announcing her hiring here.

Nick previously worked for the City of Chicago as the chief legal officer for Treasurer Kurt Summers and was tasked with investing more than $7 billion of public funds. He oversaw compliance with federal, state and local laws related to the investment and management of city funds, as well as matters related to employment, ethics, procurement, Freedom of Information Act and the Open Meetings Act. Early in his legal career, he was a Special Assistant to the White House Counsel during President Barack Obama's first term. He provided West Wing support to the White House Counsel and Deputy White House Counsel and served on a team responsible for identifying potential Supreme Court justices. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School and earned his Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Michigan. Read the full press release announcing his hiring here.
