National Law Journal Names Lana Yaghi on DC Rising Stars List

August 4, 2020

Miller Canfield is pleased to announce that The National Law Journal named Lana Yaghi among its 2020 D.C. Rising Stars. Yaghi is one of the youngest of the 40 attorneys aged 40 and younger selected for their outstanding achievements in the practice of law.

Yaghi shares her time between Miller Canfield's Washington, D.C., and Doha, Qatar, offices. Her practice focuses on corporate and commercial matters and transactions, particularly in the defense, cybersecurity and aerospace industries. Yaghi also frequently counsels corporations and high net worth individuals in corporate aviation transactions across the world.

Resident co-director of the Doha office and fluent in Arabic, Yaghi has worked extensively representing and advising conglomerates and multinational businesses in cross-border matters involving the U.S. and Qatar, including on several leading strategic defense projects between the two nations.

"Lana is an exceptional attorney with outstanding business acumen, superb legal skills, and a deep understanding of the industries and people she serves," said Miller Canfield CEO Michael McGee. "These traits were never more apparent than when she led the effort to open our office in Doha, which she accomplished in record time compared to other businesses that have located in Qatar."

Yaghi and other honorees will be recognized at The National Law Journal's annual Legal Awards on Nov. 5, 2020.
