February 1, 2021

Miller Canfield is pleased to announce that Joe Fazio has been named to the Midwest Real Estate Journal Hall of Fame.

Fazio is one of the most highly regarded real estate attorneys in the Midwest. His areas of expertise include complex commercial real estate acquisitions and developments, with extensive experience in ground leasing, entity formation, and public/private development agreements, as well as conventional, securitized and tax-increment financing. He represents closely held developers, national retailers, national financial institutions, private equity funds, publicly traded REITs, multinational corporations, municipal entities and school districts in a wide variety of real estate matters.

He is Miller Canfield's Real Estate Group's deputy leader and serves as chair of the firm's Board of Managing Directors.

"We are tremendously proud of Joe's well-earned recognition," said Miller Canfield CEO Michael McGee. "Joe is known not only in the firm, but in the greater legal community for his exceptional skill, particularly in complex transactions involving multiple assets and stakeholders."

Among Fazio's notable work highlights is his representation of Second City Capital Partners in its spin-out and "roll-up" of more than 20 companies holding 16 office properties consisting of 1.85 million square feet of rentable space in five states, and the initial public offering of City Office REIT Inc.'s common stock.

Fazio is recognized in Best Lawyers in America, Michigan Super Lawyers, DBusiness Magazine Top Lawyers and has earned highly coveted rankings in "Chambers USA," a premier global law firm and lawyer ranking organization.

Fazio serves on the Board of Trustees for the Ann Arbor Summer Festival and has previously served on the Legacy Land Conservancy Board of Trustees. He has chaired the Ann Arbor Art Center Board of Trustees and the Ann Arbor Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors.
