Miller Canfield in the Schools
The youth are the tomorrow of any society and community. The future, the objectives, and the vision of any corporation are eventually inherited and controlled by youth. The responsibility of ensuring that the futures of our youth are full of possibility and potential to realize goals, not only changes the life of a child, but our society. At Miller Canfield we realize that time invested in the life of a child is one of the biggest contributions we can make towards a brighter future. We feel privileged that through our partnerships in the community we are able to devote time and resources, to mold the minds of our youth into promising adults. Miller Canfield has initiated several programs, utilizing our community partnerships to construct educational opportunities and internships for a myriad of different youth in our local communities. We have programs that elicit participation from middle school to college aged youth. A few of our on-going initiatives include:
Barbour Middle School
Attorneys in our firm partnered with Barbour Middle School and established a reading and math tutorial program. To hear from our attorneys and staff who served as mentors, please click here.
Detroit Summer Finance Institute "DSFI"
The Detroit Summer Finance Institute, a six week paid summer internship. This internship was founded to provide meaningful summer jobs for Detroit High School students, introducing them to the financial services sector. Miller Canfield recently hired Jasmine Moore, from Renaissance High School. To learn more about our intern's experience at Miller Canfield, please click here.
Diversity Courses and Seminars
Attorneys in our firm regularly teach college courses on diversity issues at Universities throughout the Midwest, in addition to sponsoring management seminars on recruiting and retaining women and minority lawyers.
At Miller Canfield we have made investing in our youth a priority, not for the good of our image, but for the promise of our tomorrow.
