Multicultural Leadership

Miller Canfield has a vested interest in our neighboring communities. Our firm has sought to establish relationships that surpass surface level involvement.  We strive to be actively immersed in the community we serve. To address our goal, Miller Canfield established a committee that convenes with local groups and businesses on a regular basis. This group helps our community members identify issues and formulate action plans to get results. Miller Canfield strives to be an accessible pillar in the community; a firm that is aware, engaged and supports the efforts of our community members, by giving them a voice for advancement.

"At Miller Canfield, we believe that diversity opens doors and is a catalyst for innovation, change and economic growth."

For years, Miller Canfield attorneys have been active partners within Asian Indian, Middle Eastern, African-American, Pan-Asian and Latino communities.  Regular team meetings keep us – and the organizations - educated and connected.

We're proud of our many initiatives, including:

  • Sponsoring the start-up of the South Asian Bar Association in southeast Michigan;

  • Hosting a goals-sharing forum and reception for leaders in Detroit's multi-cultural organizations;

  • Partnering Miller Canfield's minority attorneys to in-house corporate counsel; and

  • Providing a forum to introduce Detroit's multi-cultural leaders to the new Michigan Market  President of Bank of America.
